I am the Director of Faith Formation at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and I am excited to begin another year with your children.  

Raising a child with faith is an important job and  must be supported by strong Religious Education, the parish community and a commitment by the family.  I hope to provide the opportunity for your entire family to grow in faith and become integral parts of the fabric of the parish community. In the section below is an outline of Faith Formation programs from the Conference of Catholic Bishops.  I will be using this as a guide for the new program.

We are utilizing the Gospel Weeklies from Pflaum Faith Formation Program. http://www.pflaumweeklies.com/
Pflaum Gospel Weeklies Faith Formation Program combines a complete doctrinal catechesis with the liturgical life of the Church. 
Every faith formation class, the children gather for prayer, song, and an activity that taps into something they already know or have experienced and introduces the Sunday Gospel theme. They proclaim the Gospel together and then learn the related Church teaching and doctrine. Games, discussion questions, and activities reinforce the Scripture, doctrine, and life application. The content of the program flows from each Sunday’s Gospel, and students learn their faith within the rhythms and seasons of the liturgical year. The program ENCOURAGES FAMILY PARTICIPATION Every lesson goes home to involve parents (who hear the same Gospel on Sunday) making it easier for them to discuss topics with their children. The wonderful Family Connection is on all levels, with the same question of the week and prayer, encourages family prayer and discussion.
